Cingoli is a town of the Macerata county which become part of the “Italy’s Most beautiful villages” club. Thanks to its panoramic position on theMarche regionterritory, is called since ancient times “The Marche region Terrace”. From a large panoramic terrace, it is possible to enjoy the view of most of the Marche regionterritory, the Adriatic Sea and the Conero Mountain.
It is One of the most fascinating underground paths of the world, with its 70 minutes lasting tourist itinerary. Visitors, led by professional guides will experience the thrill of a world turned upside down, made of suggestive environments where silence is interrupted only by the constant trickle of the water drops which makes the environment alive and in constant evolution. The caves are open to the public all year round.
San Vicino Mountain, located in the Marche region hinterland, in the Macerata county, is an important panoramic spot from whose peak, located at around 1500 metres of altitude, it is possible to enjoy a magnificent 360 degrees view. Natural reserve of the Marche region, the mountain offers numerous walkable hiking paths.
Riviera del Conero
At the mountain feet, rising steeply from the sea at 572 metres from the sea level, there are white pebbles beaches and unpolluted coves. And among bays, caves and pine forests overlooking the sea, even the water changes color, clear and deep, it turns from the clearest light blue to the green emerald. This oasis of peace and nature is a protected area since 1987: The conero mountain park. It is a spot not to be missed by hikers and nature’s lovers.
Recanati is the hometown of the Poet Giacomo Leopardi: if you happen to visit the town, you will admire the poet mansion, Casa Leopardi, where the precious library, which the poet’s father Monaldo took care of, is safeguarded, and the maternal home, the noble Palazzo Antici Mattei. Furthermore the Beniamino Gigli Museum preserves the well know tenor personal belongings, pictures and memories, whereas the Pinacoteca Civica (town art gallery) preserves some works of the painter Lorenzo Lotto and the Diocesan Museum preserves some works of painters such as Mantegna, Guercino and Sassoferrato.
Loreto è una delle più importati mete di pellegrinaggio cristiane. L'imponente Basilica, conserva all'interno i resti dell'originale casa della Vergine Maria di Nazareth, in cui è custodita la famosa statuetta della Madonna nera, simbolo da secoli del Santuario Lauretano. Inoltre al suo interno si possono ammirare numerose opere d'arte, affreschi di Luca Signorelli, Melozzo da Forlì, Zuccari e Pomarancio.
